Miami Dade College Cultural Affairs Presents Kronos Quartet
Whether performing
Webern and Bartok, or their innovative arrangements of works by Jimmy
Hendrix, Thelonious Monk and Astor Piazzolla, the Grammy Award-winning
Kronos Quartet has been the leading voice for new music for the
last 30 years. They are an ensemble of soulful musicians that
demonstrate amazing energy, pinpoint accuracy and a passion for the
breadth of their work and eclectic repertoire. With more than 500
string quartets written or arranged for them, Kronos has performed
hundreds of concerts worldwide and can be heard on the soundtrack to
the film Requiem for a Dream.
“In addition to crossing musical boundaries, Kronos also changed the look and feel of ‘classical’ concerts.”
